FAQ for iClear

What's up with the reviews claiming "address book contacts deleted"?

We believe them to be spurious. By design and implementation, iClear has no access to the Address Book or any of your contacts. Also, none of the users submitting these reviews have contacted us or Apple in any way to tell us. (We have separate indications these might be not just spurious but malicious.)

Should you come across this problem, please contact us. We will work with you to help determine what's going on, including filing bug reports with Apple.

(Tech speak here: iClear does not link to any public APIs involved with contacts or the address book. Nor does it link to any private APIs, of any functionality. If this were a legitimate issue, pretty much any app would be vulnerable to this, and we'd likely be hearing it across the whole iOS ecosystem.)
