How can I make the GPS reading more accurate?

Here's a few tips which can help.

Shift to an outdoor location as close by as you can.

Some iPhones have a GPS unit which works better when 3GS is off, or when data roaming is off. Or both. Try it all four ways.

There is no usable GPS in the stock iPodTouch. No helping you here ....
